Branding is defined as the marketing practice of creating a name, symbol or design that identifies and differentiates a product from other products.
Branding tells a customer that a particular set of attributes is the identity of a business. For example in advertising, a red bullseye could symbolize the national retail chain “Target”. Target’s red color and bullseye attributes are so strong they can only show some of their brand and have it still be easily recognized and associated with Target.
Branding differentiates you from the competition.
Perhaps you sell purple flowers as your business. Wouldn’t you want everyone to think of your company when they see purple flowers? This is another example of branding and the ability to position your company as a recognizable brand in an industry .
